Newcastle United fans are against the signing of Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend and want Chelsea youngster Kenedy instead.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend.

According to The Mirror, Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle are interested in signing Townsend from Premier League rivals Palace in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Magpies have made a bid of £20 million for the former Tottenham Hotspur winger.

Palace, though, according to the report, have stated that they will not sell at that price and want more money for the 26-year-old, who earns £55,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com.

Townsend moved to Newcastle from Tottenham in January 2016, and left for Palace in the summer of 2016 following the Magpies’ relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Townsend in the summer transfer window.

The Magpies’ supporters are overwhelming against the return of the former Tottenham winger to St. James’ Park, and would rather have Kenedy.

The 22-year-old Brazilian, who can operate as a winger or as a left-back, played the second half of this past on loan at Newcastle following his move from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
