Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been given just two substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Newcastle United fans have been urging club captain Jamaal Lascelles to start Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Newcastle drew a blank for the second match running, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth in their last outing.
Mitrovic was again left out of Newcastle’s squad, with Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Ayoze Perez all preferred to the Serbian.
And Newcastle fans are now urging Lascelles to encourage Benitez to give Mitrovic a chance.
Benitez appears to have had doubts over Mitrovic ever since he took over at St. James’ Park.
The target-man was not used regularly in the Championship last term, and has been excluded again this time around.
Mitrovic has been handed just 30 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, and he seems to be a long way down the pecking order for the Tynesiders.
Newcastle’s next match comes against Manchester United at Old Trafford, after the international break.
