Newcastle United fans are hoping for a repeat of their last Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur after it was announced they will face them at St James’ Park on opening day.
The two teams last met on the final day of the 2015/16 season, with Newcastle already relegated.

Newcastle thrashed Spurs 5-1, despite being reduced to 10 men early due to an Aleksandr Mitrovic red card, a result which saw the North London side slip to third place.
The game perhaps had even bigger repercussions for both teams, with Moussa Sissoko one of the stand out players on the pitch.
Spurs were convinced enough to buy the midfielder, a deal which has turned out to be disastrous for them.

Sissoko could well be sold on by time the two teams meet on August 12, and Tottenham will be out for revenge.
Key players Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele missed the 5-1 game due to suspension, and both line-ups will look very different when the new season begins.
