Newcastle United fans have responded to West Bromwich Albion-owned striker Salomon Rondon’s post on social networking site Twitter.

Rondon, who joined Premier League club Newcastle on loan from Championship side West Brom in the summer transfer window, is back in training after a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

The 29-year-old Venezuela international striker has been training ahead of the Premier League match between Southampton and Newcastle at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez himself has told The Chronicle that Rondon – who earns £60,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – is fit and available for the match against the Saints.

The former Zenit Saint Petersburg star has provided one assist in three Premier League starts for Newcastle so far this season, according to WhoScored.

The Magpies are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just two points from nine matches, three points behind 17th-placed Cardiff City.
