Newcastle United had Salomon Rondon on loan last season, and he scored twice for his country last night.

Newcastle United fans are urging Salomon Rondon to come back, after his latest tweet on social media.

Rondon, who was on loan at Newcastle last term, continued his fine run of form by scoring twice for Venezuela against America last night.

The West Bromwich Albion target-man was delighted with his contribution for his country, as he became his nation’s top scorer of all time.

And Newcastle fans feel that Rondon’s form on the international stage shows just why they should be snapping him up.

Rondon scored 11 goals during a loan spell with Newcastle last season from West Brom.

The powerful forward won Newcastle’s Player of the Season award, but getting a deal done has not been straightforward.

Benitez wants Rondon to sign, but Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is reluctant to sanction a deal, as the striker is 29 and has little re-sale value, as reported by the Chronicle.
