Newcastle United scored a stoppage-time equaliser to bag a point in their latest Premier League encounter.

A number of Newcastle fans have responded to Christian Atsu’s tweet following the Magpies’ 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday – with many praising the winger’s impact against the Cherries.
Rafa Benitez’s side were looking to make it four wins out of five in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium, and it appeared that they could well be on their way to that victory when Salomon Rondon scored in stoppage-time at the end of the first-half.
However, Bournemouth would turn the game on its head by scoring twice after the break, leaving the visitors heading into added time searching for an equaliser.
Thankfully for the Toon Army, former Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie scored a brilliant goal in the 93rd minute to ensure that the points were shared. Newcastle now find themselves seven points above the bottom three with seven games remaining.

There were a number of impressive performers amongst the Newcastle side, but perhaps one of the most pleasant surprises came from Atsu, who was brought on with around 18 minutes remaining.
The winger looked lively and caused his former club plenty of problems. It was the kind of cameo that Newcastle fans probably do not see enough from Atsu, so it is not a huge surprise that plenty of supporters were full of praise for the 27-year-old as he commented on the victory on social media.
