Newcastle United’s takeover still hasn’t gone through, with fans still waiting to see whether the club will have new ownership.
The Saudi-led takeover bid has been stalling for weeks on end, but that isn’t stopping them from being linked with more big signings.
This week, Bild reported that Newcastle want Wolfsburg hitman Wout Weghorst. They claim that Arsenal are in the race too, but Newcastle are faovurites.
The Bundesliga side allegedly want around £32million for Weghorst, which is a huge fee for the Dutchman in the current climate.
Weghorst has though been a goal machine for Wolfsburg since signing from AZ Alkmaar in 2018. This season, he racked up 18 goals and seven assist.
Last term, the giant target man hit 20 goals and five assists, meaning he has had 50 direct goal involvements in the last two years.

Joelinton’s form has been disappointing, so going for a more proven goalscorer in Weghorst could make some sense for Newcastle.
Now, fans are taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting that Weghorst is ‘class’ and would be ‘one heck of a coup’.
Others are urging Newcastle to sign him, branding him an ‘animal’ following his Bundesliga displays.
