Newcastle United fans have suggested that they should have signed Valon Berisha, after his performance for Kosovo against England last night.
Berisha confirmed Newcastle’s interest in him in 2018 in the Chronicle, but the Magpies never got a deal over the line for the forward.
Berisha, who is now at Lazio, showed Newcastle fans just how much quality he possessed last night during Kosovo’s 5-3 defeat to England.
Although the Three Lions picked up the three points, Berisha scored twice for his country.
And Newcastle fans were very impressed by what they saw from the 26-year-old.
Berisha may prove to be one that got away for Newcastle, as he would have certainly added quality to their line-up.
Berisha could have enhanced the attacking quality available at St. James’ Park, but Rafael Benitez, who was in charge at the time, was never given the funds to go out and buy him.
