Newcastle United fans are gutted about rumours suggesting that Wolverhampton Wanderers are now leading the race for Salomon Rondon.
Rafael Benitez is keen to sign the 29-year-old forward from West Bromwich Albion, but is struggling to persuade Mike Ashley to pay the £16.5 million required, when the Spanish boss’s future is not sorted.
It is now thought that Wolves have overtaken Newcastle in the race for Rondon.
And Newcastle supporters have been left fuming with Wolves’ transfer plans, although they are not blaming Rondon for looking elsewhere.
Rondon won Newcastle’s Player of the Season award on loan from West Brom last season, so losing out on signing him would be a major blow.
The Venezuelan proved to be a huge hit at St. James’ Park, and Nuno clearly thinks that he could have a similar impact with Wolves at Molineux.
