Aston Villa could reportedly offer the injury-stricken Rolando Aarons an escape route out of Newcastle United.

As any Newcastle United fan will tell you, Rolando Aaron’s potential is simply frightening. The winger is arguably the most exciting talent to emerge from the club’s frequently underwhelming academy since the turn of the century and, at the age of 22, should now be a regular in the first-team and eying a place in the England squad.
That ‘should’, however, is a substantial part of that sentence. Because while Aaron’s quality and natural ability cannot be questioned, his fitness most certainly can.

Aarons has started just four league games in the last two years thanks to a horror run of injuries which have left his career hanging by the balance. In total, he has missed 92 fixtures through fitness problems since exploding into the first team back in 2014/15.
But his potential is such that there is still no shortage of clubs willing to hand the seldom-seen wideman a fresh start in January. According to The Mirror’s live transfer blog (15.06pm, 4th December), Aston Villa are battling Huddersfield and Crystal Palace in the hope that Newcastle will make Aarons available on a cut-price fee.

Villa are fourth in the Championship right now but a little more speed and skill on the wings would only enhance Steve Bruce’s rather workmanlike side.
Though it speaks volumes about Aarons’ talent that, despite all these injuries, Newcastle fans do not want to see him go.
