Former Newcastle United prospect Paul Woolston is reportedly on trial at Manchester United.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that Paul Woolston is on trial at Manchester United.

According to The Manchester Evening News, former Newcastle and Sunderland prospect Woolston is on trial at Premier League and European giants United.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper was an unused substitute during United’s Under-23 side’s match against their Middlesbrough counterparts this past Sunday.

The youngster is without a club at the moment, having left Premier League outfit Newcastle at the end of last season.

The Magpies released the 20-year-old goalkeeper from their Under-23 side in the summer transfer window.

According to The Manchester Evening News, United want to make Woolston part of their Under-23 team, but the young goalkeeper is claimed to be open to heading abroad.

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that Woolston is on trial at United.
