Newcastle United will welcome fit-again Mikel Merino back tomorrow.

Rafael Benitez confirmed in a pre-match press conference that Newcastle United will welcome back the majestic Mikel Merino for Saturday’s visit of Watford.
Newcastle have lost all of their three Premier League games without Merino since the 21-year-old midfielder suffered a back injury last month.
The former Borussia Dortmund man, whose last appearance for the Magpies came when he scored a late winner in the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, is arguably Benitez’s best player and his return to the squad is a massive boost as United look to arrest a three-match losing streak tomorrow.

The Spanish manager told The Chronicle: “Merino has been training. He’s available and in the squad.”
Benitez’s revelation was music to the ears of Newcastle fans, who realise just how good Merino has been this season.

Here is some of the Twitter reaction to his imminent return:
Things aren’t so positive for Christian Atsu, Jamal Lascelles or Paul Dummett, all of whom are not expected to return to the squad, but ti’ll be interesting to see whether Merino’s return is enough for United to end their losing streak.
