Newcastle United will have to pay £13.4 million to sign Lucas Perez from Arsenal.

Newcastle United fans are frustrated that Rafael Benitez isn’t being backed with the funds to go out and sign Lucas Perez.

Arsenal are reportedly demanding £13.4 million for the Spanish striker, who has been placed on Benitez’s transfer wishlist, according to the London Evening Standard.

Although Perez is now 28, Newcastle fans still feel he represents good money in this market.

And Magpies supporters are hoping that Perez does move to St. James’ Park in the coming weeks.

Perez only signed for Arsenal last summer, but he has struggled to make an impact in his first season of English football.

Perez was rarely handed starting opportunities by Arsene Wenger, with most his time being spent on the substitutes’ bench.

Perez managed to score seven times in 21 appearances across all competitions last term, which was a credible record – considering the lack of game-time which he got.

And Newcastle fans certainly seem to have been impressed enough by Perez to hope that he is brought to Tyneside in the near future.
