Karl Darlow impressed for Newcastle United on Saturday.

Newcastle United fans have reacted well to Karl Darlow’s latest performance.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper hasn’t always had an easy time of it from Newcastle fans this season by virtue of a couple of error-laden performances.
And although the Magpies lost 3-1 at top-of-the-table Manchester City on Saturday, Darlow, a £3 million signing in 2014, was one of United’s better players.

Darlow looked relatively assured throughout and one outstanding save from Raheem Sterling was a telling reminder of his talent, despite the occasional gaffe.
And fans of the North-East giants have praised him on Twitter.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is rumoured to want a goalkeeper, but surely other areas of the squad need to take priority like, say, a striker.
They were linked with Pepe Reina this month but Darlow’s performance, coupled with the back-up of Rob Elliot, means Benitez shouldn’t look at his shot-stopping options until maybe the summer.
