Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is said to be eager to bring in Juan Mata from Manchester United.

Newcastle United fans are excited over potentially signing Juan Mata from Manchester United.

The Sun have claimed that Newcastle are interested in snapping up Mata, who looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The Spaniard may be reaching the twilight of his career, but he is available on a free transfer.

And Newcastle supporters are hoping to see the playmaker at St. James’ Park next term.

Mata may be slow but his vision, passing and experience are superb and more than compensate, we have quick players to run off him, would love to see it. Doesn’t fit Ashley’s criteria of profit over experience though

Mata has only been given limited game-time by the Red Devils this season, but he still has plenty of quality.

If the 31-year-old was to move to Newcastle he would surely become the most creative player in their squad.

Newcastle have utilised Ayoze Perez in the number 10 position at times this season, but Mata would offer them a different sort of option.

Mata made 23 Premier League appearances for Manchester United over the past campaign, scoring three times.
