Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United side were beaten by Leicester City on penalties last night.
Newcastle United fans are hammering Jonjo Shelvey, after their defeat to Leicester City last night on penalties.
Newcastle drew 1-1 against a strong Leicester team at St. James’ Park, and Shelvey was one of the players to miss from the spot.
Shelvey and Isaac Hayden fluffed their lines from 12 yards, as Steve Bruce’s Newcastle side failed to progress to the next round of the cup.
But it was not his penalty miss that Shelvey was being criticised by Newcastle fans for on social media.
Instead, Magpies supporters were far more concerned about his performance during the contest.
Shelvey has not made the brightest start to the new campaign, despite scoring against Norwich City.
Shelvey has been offered chances by Bruce, but has not always impressed in midfield.
Newcastle are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Watford in the Premier League.
