Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles always spoke very positively about Rafael Benitez.

Newcastle United fans think Jamaal Lascelles is hurting after seeing an interview with him on the club’s official website.
Lascelles was asked a few questions about Newcastle’s pre-season, as he spoke publicly for the first time since Rafael Benitez’s departure.
Newcastle have been out in China, with Ben Dawson and Neil Redfearn taking temporary charge of training.
And Lascelles said: “We’ll do our best no matter what the circumstances are. That’s all we can do, try hard. Keep the intensity in training good and act professionally. Ben is putting on some good sessions for us.”
The comments seem rather generic, but Newcastle fans are certain that they saw a deeper meaning behind them in the video.
Lascelles was known to be a huge fan of Benitez, as the Spanish manager really helped him improve as a player.
Lascelles was installed as Newcastle’s captain under Benitez, and saw his value shoot up to £30 million (The Sun).
There has been no suggestions that Lascelles is looking for a way out yet, but it does seem that most of Newcastle’s players are available for sale at the right price.
