Newcastle United are linked with Islam Slimani next month.

Newcastle United fans wouldn’t be against the idea of signing Leicester City’s Islam Slimani, if their Twitter reaction is anything to go by.
The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that Newcastle have asked the Foxes about their £29 million signing from 2016, who has managed seven goals in 32 Premier League games.
The Algerian attacker’s first-team prospects don’t look all that promising under City boss Claude Puel, who has given him just the one Premier League start all season long.

Speculation about his future is inevitable and, according to The Daily Mail, the Magpies could be among those prepared to offer him an escape route when the transfer window opens.
And suffice to say it’s a prospect that some Newcastle fans would welcome.

Fortunately for Newcastle, Leicester couldn’t demand anywhere near the £29 million that they paid for him, but he would still cost Rafael Benitez a pretty penny.
It hasn’t worked out for him at the King Power, but this is still a player who scored 27 goals in 33 games for Sporting Lisbon during the 2015-16 campaign and he is undoubtedly an improvement on Joselu or Dwight Gayle.
