Could former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr take over Newcastle United?

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Floyd Mayweather Jr’s recent comments about taking over the Magpies.
The former American professional boxer has stated that he is open to the idea of taking over Newcastle.
The Magpies have been the subject of takeover bid from Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners LLP this season, as reported by The Telegraph.
It has been reported that Staveley submitted as many as three offers in November, but current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley rejected them all.

Ashley is still the owner of the Magpies, but the fans are not happy and want him gone.
The Chronicle has relayed quotes from former American boxer Mayweather Jr in the print edition of The Daily Star on Sunday (March 18, 2018) in which he suggested that he is open to investing in Newcastle.
The 41-year-old also suggested that he could bring Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo to St. James’ Park to finish off his career.
These comments are quite astounding, and if Mayweather Jr is serious, then there could well some development in the takeover of Newcastle, who are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment.
