Former Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin scored for Marseille against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Florian Thauvin for Marseille against Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday evening.
Thauvin joined Newcastle from Marseille in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £12 million.
The France international winger struggled to make an impact at the Magpies under then head coach Steve McClaren and was loaned back to Marseille in January 2016 for the rest of the 2015-16 season.

The winger returned to his French club for his second spell on loan at the start of the 2016-17 campaign before making the move permanent in the summer of 2017.
Now valued at €80.3 million (£70.42m), according to CIES Football Observatory, Thauvin scored the opening goal in Marseille’s 2-0 win against Salzburg at home in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday evening.
Newcastle fans were impressed with the performance of the 25-year-old winger, who has scored 19 goals and provided 10 goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille so far this season, according to WhoScored.
