Newcastle United picked up an important win on Saturday night as they beat Burnley 3-1 at St James’ Park.
The Magpies had a tricky midweek Carabao Cup clash with Newport County, but took the lead against Burnley through Allan Saint-Maximin’s opener.
Burnley levelled through Ashley Westwood, but Callum Wilson put Newcastle back in front before sealing the win from the penalty spot.
Newcastle moved up to sixth in the Premier League table with that win, losing just one of their first four Premier League games.
There were a host of impressive performances in the Newcastle side, and one of them was defender Emil Krafth.
The Swede hasn’t particularly impressed since joining Newcastle from Amiens in 2019, and he played in two positions last night, switching from right back to centre back following Fabian Schar’s injury.
Krafth made six clearances, three aerial duels and one key pass in an impressive performance, which ultimately resulted in major praise from Newcastle fans.
Some called Krafth ‘so underrated’ and an ‘unsung hero’, adding that he was ‘quality’ and had his best game for the club so far.
