Newcastle United were beaten 4-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers, after putting in an awful showing.

Newcastle United fans have found one positive to take from their performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
Newcastle were battered in the contest for large stages, and really struggled to make any impact.
In the end Wolves ran out 4-0 winners, and most of Newcastle’s players struggled.
The Magpies are only just beginning their pre-season, so they do have time to make improvements, but if Steve Bruce was in any doubt over how tough his task at St. James’ Park will be, he cannot be anymore.
Through all the gloom though, Elias Sorensen’s display did earn him some credit.
Sorensen has scored frequently for Newcastle’s development squad, but he was never really offered a chance by Rafael Benitez.
With Newcastle so short of strikers it could be that he is offered a chance in the first-team if he continues to impress over pre-season though.
