Newcastle United continue to be linked with a whole host of potential signings, even though their takeover hasn’t been completed yet.
The takeover has been rumbling on for weeks now, with no immediate end in sight. The deal is still expected to go through, but Magpies fans are sat waiting.
We have already seen big name after big name being linked with Newcastle; most likely the work of agents trying to land themselves a scoop of the potential Newcastle windfall.
Over the weekend though, it was a Championship player being linked with the Magpies. The Chronicle reported that Newcastle are keen to sign Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze.
Eze, 21, has come up through the QPR ranks and now emerged as one of the Championship’s top players.
A skilful playmaker with real end product, Eze has hit 12 goals and eight assists this season, so it’s no surprise to see Premier League clubs tracking him.
Eze has just one year left on his QPR deal, so Newcastle may well push for a deal even if they don’t have new ownership, with QPR potentially under pressure to sell.
Newcastle fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some praising Eze as a ‘lovely player’ and ‘proper player’.
Others think that Eze is exactly what Newcastle need right now, and would love to see him make the move to St James’ Park this summer.
