Newcastle United’s transfer plans may be a little difficult this summer, as their proposed takeover still hasn’t materialised.
The idea of big-name signings coming in for huge money now seems to be slipping away, though Newcastle are still being linked with new faces.
A new name has popped up from The Telegraph, as they claim that Newcastle have joined the race to sign Demarai Gray.
It’s stated that Newcastle want to sign the Leicester winger this summer, as he plots an exit from the King Power Stadium.
Gray, 24, managed just three Premier League starts this season, and seemingly wants to head elsewhere for first-team action.
A former hot prospect at Birmingham City, Gray hasn’t quite kicked on Leicester, and now needs to make a move in advance of his contract ending next summer.

Newcastle have Allan Saint-Maximin on the right, but adding Gray on the left could give the Magpies a dangerous wing tandem for years to come.
Magpies fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with a number of fans believing that Gray would be a ‘good signing’ for Newcastle.
Others are a tad concerned that Gray hasn’t kicked on at Leicester, but believe he would still be an upgrade on their current wingers.
