Newcastle United fans don’t want to lose Chancel Mbemba.

Newcastle United fans haven’t reacted well to rumours that Chancel Mbemba could leave Tyneside in January.

The Chronicle has reported that the Magpies boss Rafael Benitez is willing to listen to offers for the former Anderlecht defender.

The 23-year-old centre-half has been in and out of the team this season but has impressed in an unfamiliar left-back role at times due to Paul Dummett’s absence.

And it would appear as if Newcastle fans aren’t one bit happy with the suggestion that Benitez could get rid of him.

Mbemba joined United for £8.5 million (The Chronicle) under Steve McClaren over two years ago, but for whatever reason the big man hasn’t been given many chances under the Spaniard.

He managed just 12 Championship appearances last season, despite being fit, and selling him would confirm suspicions that he simply does not rate him.

The Shields Gazette linked David Luiz with a loan move to Newcastle today, which could offset his exit.
