Newcastle United’s takeover hasn’t been completed yet, but they continue to be linked with potential new signings.
The £300million deal from the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers has been dragging on a little, but should still happen.
Newcastle have been linked with many potential arrivals. Players, managers, directors; they’ve all been touted with moves to St James’ Park.
Now, Foot Mercato claim that Newcastle are in the race for Bertrand Traore. The Lyon attacker allegedly wants to leave this summer, as he isn’t happy with his squad role at Lyon.
Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen, but Newcastle will be a threat if the takeover goes through. They would surely be able to challenge given the riches at their disposal.
Traore may have struggled under Rudi Garcia, but with 29 goals in his first two seasons at Lyon, he clearly has talent.

Formerly of Chelsea, the Burkina Faso star may fancy another crack at English football – but fans don’t seem to impressed with the rumours.
Some are merely saying ‘no’ to the idea of the winger joining, preferring another Traore – probably Adama – with others believing he would only really be an upgrade over fringe winger Christian Atsu.
Some even think Newcastle can aim higher than Traore now, as he would have been a Mike Ashley-era signing, whilst some are just fed up of so many players being linked with the club…
