Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has moved to Leicester City on a four-year deal.
Newcastle United fans think Ayoze Perez has taken a dig after joining Leicester City.
Perez completed a move away from Newcastle to Leicester earlier today, with the Spaniard signing a four-year deal at the King Power Stadium.
The news comes as a blow to Newcastle, and supporters have already picked up on his comments.
Perez said to Leicester’s official website: “The club want to keep growing as much as they can and that’s something I like. I spoke with the manager and that was important.”
Ordinarily the quotes may just have been seen as pretty generic, but Newcastle fans think that their is more meaning behind them.
Perez was fairly outspoken at Newcastle and did say to the press that he wanted to see the club show more ambition.
When Rafael Benitez left it always seemed likely that Perez would follow, although the speed of his departure is somewhat of a surprise.
Newcastle have now lost their two top scorers from last season, with Salomon Rondon’s loan expiring.
