Villa wrapped up the signing of Wesley for £22 million yesterday (Telegraph), after Newcastle’s interest in the striker had been reported earlier in the summer.
And Newcastle fans are frustrated that newly promoted clubs like Villa are seemingly showing more ambition than them.
Villa have already spent big since earning promotion to the Premier League, with Dean Smith putting together a strong squad at Villa Park.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have been very quiet in the transfer window so far.
The Magpies are not planning on making any additions until Rafael Benitez’s future is sorted.
Benitez has just over two weeks remaining on his contract at St. James’ Park, and he still hasn’t penned a new deal with the Tynesiders.
