Newcastle United loaned out Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham for the remainder of the season yesterday.
Newcastle United fans have been left frustrated by Rafael Benitez’s decision to loan out Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham.
Mitrovic has struggled for appearances for Newcastle all season, with Benitez preferring both Joselu and Dwight Gayle to the Serbian.
The Magpies also signed Islam Slimani from Leicester City on deadline day, which enabled Mitrovic to be made available.
Fulham jumped at the chance to bring the target-man to Craven Cottage.
And Newcastle fans are disappointed that Mitrovic has departed, as they feel he has more to offer than Joselu.
Joselu did himself no favours last night, as the already unpopular striker missed a penalty during Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.
The Spaniard has struggled at St. James’ Park since signing from Stoke City in the summer.
Slimani will now be required to hit the ground running, as Newcastle need to find a goalscorer if they are to avoid the drop.
Benitez’s men currently sit just one point above the relegation zone, and their poor form has become highly concerning.
