Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic hinted today that his future could lie away from the North East.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has poured doubt on his Newcastle United future.
The Serbia striker, who has only managed 49 minutes of Premier League football this season, appears to be behind Joselu and Dwight Gayle in the pecking order at St James’s Park.
In order to travel to Russia next summer for the World Cup, the 23-year-old will need to play a lot more football in the second half of the season and it remains to be seen if Rafael Benitez obliges him.

The Newcastle man has been a divisive figure since joining for £13 million a little over two years ago, with Mitrovic capable of making headlines for the wrong reasons just as often as he is the right ones.
Benitez has told the fiery hitman to be patient recently, but speaking to The Shields Gazette today, the former Anderlecht striker suggested he could leave in January unless chances were forthcoming.

And the Magpies’ fans can’t blame him for questioning his long-term future in the North East.
