The 2016 signing might be returning to Newcastle United in the summer.

It looks like Achraf Lazaar might be heading back to Newcastle United this summer.
That is according to The Chronicle, who reported that Lazaar, who joined the Magpies in 2016, has been frozen out of Benevento’s first-team squad and a permanent deal now looks extremely unlikely.

The 26-year-old cost Newcastle some £3 million when Rafael Benitez signed him from Palmero, but it looks like the Spanish manager will have a hard time trying to offload him when the summer transfer window opens.
Benitez struggled to sell or loan out plenty of deadwood last summer and relocating Lazaar seems like it’ll be on the agenda again this time around.

The Morocco international hadn’t started a single Championship or Premier League game with the Magpies, making four league appearances in total, and suffice to say that the latest development has further tarnished his already-negative perception among United fans.
