Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Royal Antwerp in a friendly earlier today.

Victor Fernandez has earned praise for his performance for Newcastle United in their friendly in Spain this afternoon.
Newcastle have gone away for warm-weather training, and took on Royal Antwerp in a friendly today.
The match was split into three thirds of 45 minutes, with the two sides drawing 1-1.

Fernandez was handed his chance to impress in the final quarter, which Newcastle actually lost 1-0.
But the 19-year-old’s display caught the eye, as he did not look out of his depth.
Fernandez is yet to make his debut for Newcastle’s senior side, but he has caught the eye at development squad level.
The tricky winger has been praised publicly by Rafael Benitez of late, and is thought to be pushing for a first-team place.
Whether Fernandez will have done enough for Benitez to include him when the Premier League action starts up again in two weekends’ time remains to be seen.
