Newcastle United’s takeover remarkably still hasn’t gone through, but they continue to be linked with potential new signings.
The Magpies are the target of a Saudi-led consortium, but the saga has been going on for at least three months now.
If Newcastle do get new owners, then they will surely look to splash the cash – and potential signings are being linked with the club on a regular basis.
A new rumour emerged this week, as the Daily Mail report that Newcastle have joined the race to sign Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on Cantwell, who may make an instant return to the top flight following Norwich’s relegation.
The 22-year-old midfielder has bagged six goals and two assists in his first Premier League campaign, and been a versatile playmaker who has featured on the left, right and as a number 10.

Cantwell looks to have a bright future in the top flight, and Newcastle may believe that he can bring some more creativity to Steve Bruce’s side.
Fans have been taking to Twitter in order to react to the rumours, with many begging the Magpies to get Cantwell signed up.
Some think he should now be Newcastle’s prime target, and feel that he is an even better player than Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
