Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle.

Newcastle United fans seem largely open to the idea of signing Dwight Gayle from Crystal Palace.
The Chronicle have reported that Palace have offered Newcastle the opportunity to sign Gayle this summer.

The Palace striker has been the Selhurst Park side’s top scorer for the past three seasons, but he has not done enough to convince Alan Pardew that he is ready for a regular place in their first team.
Gayle now appears to have been made available for transfer, and with Newcastle on the look out for a new front man Pardew has looked to take advantage.

The Magpies have already been linked with Ross McCormack and Patrick Bamford, but Gayle is another proven scorer at Championship level.
Gayle netted 13 goals in 29 appearances for Peterborough United during the 2012/13 campaign, in his first season in the second tier.
Since, the 25-year-old has gone on to hit home 15 goals in 27 Premier League starts for Palace and Newcastle fans are enthused by his potential arrival at St. James’ Park. Here is the best reaction on social media site Twitter.
