Newcastle United are linked with the Germany goalkeeper.

The Telegraph have reported that Newcastle United have identified Kevin Trapp as a potential signing, but added that Rafael Benitez has “cooled his interest” in the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper.
Newcastle have been linked with a goalkeeper for a lot of the summer as Karl Darlow and Tim Krul remain at St James’s Park despite widespread speculation about their futures.
With less than 48 hours to go in the transfer window, it’s not an ideal situation for the Magpies who, ideally, need competition for first-choice Rob Elliot.

And Trapp is the latest name linked with a move to St James’s Park, though The Telegraph also stipulated that Benitez will not “panic buy”.
The Germany international won the Confederations Cup this summer and has made almost 60 Ligue 1 appearances for les Parisiens following his move from Frankfurt in 2015.
The Sun previously reported this week that Wayne Hennessey at Crystal Palace was an option, but some Newcastle fans would prefer the 27-year-old.
