Everton’s Ross Barkley is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley.

According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in signing Barkley from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Magpies, who got promoted from the Championship at the end of last season, have joined the race to secure the services of the England international.

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and AC Milan are also interested in Barkley, according to The Daily Mail.

Ross Barkley of Everton celebrates scoring his sides first goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on May 12, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Newcastle, though, could fall short of Everton’s asking price for the 23-year-old, which is around £50 million, according to BBC Sport.

The Magpies have just got promoted to the Premier League, and it is hard to see how Rafael Benitez’s side could cough up as much as £50m in order to sign the Englishman.

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Everton midfielder Barkley – they are not convinced that the Magpies would be able to sign him.
