Newcastle’s previous highest transfer was worth £16 million, but Rafael Benitez’s side are said to be prepared to pay more for Jorgensen.
Newcastle fans are not entirely convinced that the Danish forward is the answer, but most do feel that he can’t be any worse than their current options.
Newcastle are currently having to rotate between Joselu and Dwight Gayle up-front, and they have both struggled to score.
Joselu has just four goals to his name, while Gayle only has three so far this season.
Jorgensen, meanwhile, has hit nine goals in all competitions this term, including two in the Champions league, for Feyenoord.
If Jorgensen is brought to Newcastle he is likely to go straight into Benitez’s starting line-up, as the Spanish boss looks to guide his side towards safety.
