Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has proven to be a very controversial appointment at St. James’ Park.

Steve Bruce, Manager of Newcastle United looks on prior to the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Newcastle United at Anfield on September 14, 2019 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Newcastle United fans already have an issue with the potential new owners, as they are said to be set to back Steve Bruce.

The Daily Mail claim that Newcastle are the subject of a takeover bid, but that the new owners want Bruce to remain in charge if it does go through.

Bruce has made a slow start to life at St. James’ Park, with the Magpies currently sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table.

Bruce’s initial appointment was controversial and performances have done very little to win the doubters over.

As a result there is a real disappointment that if the takeover bid does go through that Bruce will still apparently remain in charge.

At the moment the takeover rumours need to be treated with caution as Newcastle have been the subject of plenty of failed bids before.

Mike Ashley has had the club up for sale for years now, but no potential buyer has been able to fully agree a deal.

The current consortium trying to buy Newcastle are said to be led by Peter Kenyon, who has been interested in the Magpies for a sizeable amount of time now.
