Newcastle United have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi, and have even discussed a move for the Spaniard, as reported by the Guardian.

Rafael Benitez has voiced his frustrations in recent weeks about the lack of transfer activity at Tyneside this season, despite signing six new players, and is planning to make more additions before the window closes.

With the Magpies failing to score in two Premier League games, it is clearly evident that attacking reinforcements are needed.

Munir has an impressive CV for a player aged just 21 – two La Liga trophies, two Copa del Reys and the 2015 Champions League.

The youngster made a strong impression when he first arrived on to the scene, but he has failed to nail down a regular first team place at Camp Nou.
