Atlanta won 3-1 against Wayne Rooney’s DC United side, in front of the Sky Sports cameras, and Almiron’s display caught the eye.
Newcastle are known to be looking to add a number 10 this summer, with Rafael Benitez desperate to improve his attacking options.
Benitez has been limited with what he can do in the transfer market to date, with Newcastle shopping on a limited budget.
Whether the Magpies could agree a deal for Almiron remains to be seen, but the exciting over a potential transfer seems to be growing among the St. James’ Park crowd.
