Miguel Almiron was Newcastle United’s record-signing in January, but could he follow Rafa Benitez out of St James’ Park this summer?

Newcastle United supporters on Twitter have admitted that they wouldn’t blame Miguel Almiron if he were to leave the club this summer.
In the past week, the North East outfit has descended into even more chaos when it was announced that Rafa Benitez will leave the club – his contract officially expired on Sunday.
It has understandably led to questions being asked about whether any Newcastle players will now follow Benitez out of the door as there is serious uncertainty surrounding the football club.
During Almiron’s time at the Copa America, he was asked about his future and he insisted that he is focused on Newcastle [Chronicle], but the Toon Army faithful admitted that anything can happen despite his comments.
If Benitez was still Newcastle manager then things would have been a lot different. From the supporter’s mood to the players looking forward to returning from their holidays.

But the complete opposite has happened in regards with the fans and it won’t be a surprise if some of the players are feeling that way and questioning their own future.
Almiron only moved to St James’ Park in January when he made the switch from the MLS to the Premier League. He is yet to make his mark on the league, but he did show promising signs in his first few months.
