Newcastle defender impressed against Manchester City.
Newcastle United loanee Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was in action in the Champions League last night, causing a little head scratching among many of the team’s supporters.
Yanga-Mbiwa was loaned in late August to Roma, and was making his fourth appearance for the club.
He had a comfortable game in the 1-1 draw at The Etihad, and had fans wondering why he was loaned in the first place, or why the management were not able to get better out of him.

Yanga-Mbiwa was playing at centre-back, alongside Kostas Manolas, in a new look backline with Mehdi Benatia sold to Bayern Munich over the summer.
While the Frenchman plays Champions League football, Newcastle sit 19th in the Premier League table, with no wins in their opening six games.
He made 17 Premier League starts for Newcastle last season.
