Newcastle United fans have raved about Lucas Vazquez, after links with the Real Madrid winger have emerged.

Newcastle United fans have been impressed with Lucas Vazquez’s performance for Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup last night.

Vazquez came off the substitutes’ bench for Madrid against Manchester United, and produced one breathtaking run to help Los Blancos on their way to a 2-1 victory.

Newcastle fans were hugely impressed by Vazquez’s display, but they admit that they never had any hope of signing the Spaniard.

The Sun had suggested that Newcastle were interested in Vazquez, with Rafael Benitez eyeing up the wide man as a potential addition.

However, Vazquez may be too high profile a player for Newcastle to sign at this current juncture.

Newcastle have only just returned to the Premier League, and there is uncertainty over how they will perform in the upcoming campaign.

The Magpies have managed to bring in five players so far this summer, but none of their new additions have been on Vazquez’s level.

Newcastle get their season under way with a match against Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
