Evans is set to be available for just £3 million, when West Bromwich Albion’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed.

And Newcastle are keen to offer him the chance to return to the Premier League.

Newcastle fans though have their doubts about the transfer, as they struggle to see what Evans would offer them.

The Northern Irish defender is 30 now, and many Magpies supporters feel that he wouldn’t even start for them.

Newcastle are likely to be looking to invest in the summer, after what has been a productive season.
