Newcastle United fans have had a mixed reaction to the news that they could move for West Bromwich Albion’s Ahmed Hegazi.

Newcastle are said to be considering activating Hegazi’s release clause by ESPN.

Hegazi is available for £10 million this summer, following West Brom’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

And Newcastle supporters appear to be divided in their thinking over whether the Egyptian would be a good addition.

While some Magpies fans do feel that Hegazi could help toughen up their backline, others don’t think he’d be a worthwhile addition.

Rafael Benitez is seemingly looking to add another centre-back, despite bringing in Fabian Schar already this summer.

Newcastle are set to be without Florian Lejeune for a considerable period of time, after his recent injury, and that could make signing a centre-back vital.
