Newcastle may have won the match at Ewood Park 4-2 in extra-time, but Manquillo’s shaky defensive display came in for scrutiny on social media website Twitter.
Benitez could still be forced to start Manquillo in the coming weeks for Newcastle, as he is so short on options.
Newcastle are suffering a crisis, with their options in defensive looking particularly short.
