Jacob Murphy has joined Newcastle United from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Jacob Murphy against Preston North End this weekend.

Murphy featured for Premier League outfit Newcastle in the pre-season friendly match against Championship club Preston at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old winger made his debut for the Magpies against Preston following his move from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the transfer fee that Newcastle had to pay Canaries is £10 million and could rise to £12m with appearance-related add-ons.

The former England Under-21 international has taken to Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for Newcastle, with the club’s fans also reacting to his performance in a match that ended 1-1.

Newcastle won automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season and will be aiming to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League during the 2017-18 campaign.

Murphy scored nine goals and provided six assists in 37 Championship appearances for Norwich last season.
