Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Jack Colback for the Under-23 team on Monday night.

Colback featured for the Newcastle Under-23 side against their Wolverhampton Wanderers counterparts at St. James’ Park in the Premier League 2.

Donovan Wilson’s early goal proved to be the difference between the Magpies and the Wanderers.

Colback started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and Newcastle fans were not impressed with his performance.

Colback has been on the books of Newcastle since the summer of 2014 following his departure from bitter rivals Sunderland at the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 27-year-old midfielder’s appearance against Wolves on Monday night was his first in almost two months.

The Englishman’s last appearance for the Magpies at any level came against Mainz in a pre-season friendly match on July 29.

According to The Shields Gazette, Colback was told by Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez to find a new club in the summer transfer window, but the midfielder could not secure a move away from St. James’ Park.
