Newcastle United sold striker Ivan Toney to Peterborough United, and he has been in sparkling form in League One.

Newcastle United fans have hit back at Ivan Toney, after his comments about leaving St. James’ Park earlier this year.
Newcastle sold Toney to Peterborough, and the powerful forward has gone on to impress hugely at League One level.
Toney has hit 17 goals in 35 appearances for Posh, and when speaking to Sky Sports he suggested that he felt he could have made it at Newcastle.
“I wasn’t involved with the first team [in the summer] so it was time for me to move on to somewhere I could get going,” Toney told Sky Sports News. “Now I have come here and managed to score a few goals.
“You need to be given the chance to prove yourself and I don’t think I was given that opportunity. But I guess it is their loss in the end.”
However, Newcastle fans have disagreed with Toney’s comments and have hit back at the in-form forward.
Newcastle have struggled for a prolific scorer up-front this season, but Rafael Benitez has often overlooked youth anyway.
Elias Sorensen has been performing brilliantly for Newcastle’s development side, but he has not been given a chance.
Benitez has favoured Salomon Rondon and Joselu up-front, with the target-men generally leading the line for the Magpies this term.
Toney’s goals, meanwhile, have helped Posh climb into the play off spaces in League One.
