Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar was in action for Switzerland during their UEFA Nations League encounter against England.

Newcastle United fans on Twitter were delighted to see Fabian Schar scoring a penalty for Switzerland against Jordan Pickford on Sunday.
England beat the Swiss on penalties in their UEFA Nations League third-place play-off, with Newcastle’s defensive rock Schar starting for his nation.
The Three Lions dominated the game, with the contest going to penalties and the Newcastle fans enjoying double delight during the shootout win.
Not only did the St James’ Park faithful enjoy Gareth Southgate’s side wrapping up the win, but they very much enjoyed Schar scoring against former Sunderland man Pickford.
The Everton man has had his runnings with Newcastle, no more so than during the recently concluded season when Marco Silva’s side were beaten 3-2 at St James’ Park.
Pickford received a lot of stick from the home fans that day, with his highlight coming when he saved a penalty, but his performance overall on the day was poor.

Nonetheless, the Newcastle supporters were glad to see Schar in action on Sunday against England and him doing his job by putting his penalty away during Switzerland’s shootout defeat.
